Commitment description

The 6th World Water Forum brought together 250 members of Parliament from all over the world who collectively committed themselves to take a series of measures corresponding to their own prerogatives as Parliamentarians:

  •  to strengthen water policies and solidarity mechanisms
  • to ensure that water and sanitation-related priorities be supported by sufficient budgetary and financial resources
  • work towards the entry into force of relevant international legal and institutional tools
  • promote the Water Legislation HelpDesk
  • work towards establishing a mechanism for the monitoring and evaluation of solutions and commitments
  • work within the scope of the Rio+20 conference   

These commitments correspond to the last part of the Parliamentarians’ Manifesto agreed at the conclusion of the Parliamentarian Conference of the 6th World Water Forum.

How will you monitor your commitment ?

All these committments will be monitored through the implementation of a related mechanism under the responsability of the World Water Council
