Two different communities at the Panamanian pilote site and two different communities at the Costarican pilote site of the binational Río Sixaola watershed receive training and knowledge in integrated water management to take action in ecosystem restoration. These learned actions let the communities adapt to negative effects of a changing climate. The activities are:

-Ecosystem restoration with the help of reforestation with native tree species on river banks and plains threatened by floods. Actions planned and implemented by the communities.

-Communities receives training in integrated water management for ecosystem based adaptation.
