The Parliament of Young Citizens of the Scheldt aims to bring together young people who live in the same river basin district. As well as exchanges between members, the project promotes opportunities for the PYCS to directly interact with political decision makers. Young people are prepared for educational visits and local and international training in which integrated water resource management remains a central theme. Education and citizenship are two important pillars of the project. Consequently, members are exposed to decision makers and the relevant authorities, companies and commercial interests involved in water, managers of port facilities and interest groups from the sectors of water and sustainable development.
