The Pan American Health Organization/WHO has initiated the project, which has been developed by the Buenos Aires Academy of Medicine. The countries and municipalities may use the evidences to elaborate local and national policies on water and human rights. At the local level the dissemination of this document may promote local participation towards water governance. The study provides evidence to facilitate a deliberative, reason-based dialogue geared to building a new public health agenda, one that promotes universal access to water and sanitation and affirms the linkage between public health policies and fulfillment of right for all.
