At the tecnical level, the solution is to raise up irrigation efficiency and to reduce water losses by using closed irrigation systems instead of using lining and flumes for irrigation canals. At the institutional level,  Iraq had promoted water users associations  so that  farmers have a role in water management and to learn how to use high-tech irrigation systems  and to raise awareness in how to use water  and preserve water

Pedagogical system called “water class”: an active educational method adapted to different publics, from primary school to university, from novice to specific professionals. It’s a training period (generally one week) where the participants learn basic citizen information: natural and domestic water circle but also water management. The pedagogical material is the log-book containing water class program, information, speech presentations, exercises, etc. It’s a reference book for the future.

This solution is a strategy for disseminating and awareness of the implications of the human right to water and capacity building of communities to exercise their right before local authorities, as part of the programme of strengthening civil society to contribute to sustainable water and sanitation at Mexico through its participation in the design, implementation and monitoring of public policies relating to conservation and water management.

21 young reporters and filmmakers from the five continents are distributed in 7 teams of three.

Each of the seven teams visit seven projects in 49 different parts of the world presenting innovative freshwater solutions. There, they produce an audiovisual report on the solutions implemented and record interviews of managers and beneficiaries of the projects.

The 49 reports and interviews are distributed to worldwide TV channels to produce TV series in different formats adapted to their grids.

Netwater conducted awareness programs for women group in Mauara irrigation scheme on climate change effects, water conservation techniques, nutritional food preparation etc. Once potential of introducing home gardening in the area was identified, they ran awareness programs with the support of agricultural officers for the rural women group.NetWwater demonstrated drip irrigation techniques using discarded saline tubes and barrels (donated by Unilever), roof water harvesting (rainwater harvesting through roofs) is one of other major option the farmer families can depend on for continuous water supply.
