Some ongoing efforts in Turkey within the content of Integrated Flood Management based on the central authority at Ankara, local municipalities and the people living the flood hit area are applied. Within the framework of comprehensive flood hazard mitigation concept, referring to the former studies on Flood Inventory of Turkey, Western Black Sea region of Turkey has been studied as a case study.

The Livelihoods, Early Assessment and Protection (LEAP) project plays a fundamental role in Ethiopia by supporting the shift from managing weather-related disasters and disaster response to managing weather risks. It does so by linking climate and food security early warning, contingency planning, risk profiling and contingent finance to nationally-owned social protection programmes such as the Productive Safety Net Programme (PSNP).
