The Global Sanitation Fund is a pooled fund established to direct finance to help large numbers of poor people to attain safe sanitation services and adopt good hygiene practices. It is typically the existing WSSCC National WASH Coalition or other WSSCC partners that request for the country to be considered for funding from the GSF. These parties engage with the National Government to select sector stakeholders to form the basis of a Coordinating Mechanism. The Coordinating Mechanism makes certain that the work supported by the Global Sanitation Fund is consistent with national policies and the activities of the National WASH Coalitions that undertake professional networking, knowledge management, advocacy and communications work. They continue to provide strategic oversight to the programmes.

In Pakistan after 18th amendment in Constitution the all main Department are transferred in the Provinces/States, the Ministry of Environment, Local Government , Health, Social Welfare etc are now part of each Province/State. there is a need to prepare a Policy for the Safe Drinking water, Sanitation and Hygiene. The awareness raising about the Right to Water and Sanitation will support the case of planning and implementation at Government level.

The main part of community is the women, so according to my point of view, if we aware the women the problem of water and sanitation will be solved easily.

Since January 2009, Sarar Transformación has been providing improved access to safe water and sustainable sanitation to approximately 2000 students and teachers in 17 pre-school, primary and secondary schools in the upper Copalita watershed, Oaxaca, Mexico.  Drawing from its extensive experience with the SARAR participatory education methodology -and the related PHAST approach-, the program involves the entire school community in the assessment process, choice of technical options, and trains students, teachers and parents in the use and maintenanceof the facilities, as well as proper hygiene. Through such training, Sarar-T has introduced and fostered the uptake of alternative dry sanitation facilities, a previously uncommon technology in schools of the region, which conserve water and keep waste out of waterways.
