The Hima approach empowers sustainable management of natural resources through empowering local reforms and policies, it stresses on the promotion of the traditional management approaches where community based agreement act as legay binding. Environmental Education is promoted in Himas through the support of sustainable management of natural resources,where people are trained to adopt sustainable management.

The concession of the” Canal de Provence”  is granted by a local authority,  “Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur”, to a company, whose governing body is composed by local authorities interested  both in hydraulic development and  land management. Since 1957, the company has been carrying out the design & construction of infrastructures, and operating water resource management and water distribution to farmers and individuals in rural areas, to cities and to industries. At the completion of the contract in 2038, the company will have to give back all the assets to the “Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur”, in perfect state of operation.

The Southwest Coastal Region of Bangladesh is a part of the Ganges flood plain and has a rich biodiversity; geographically a brackish water regime made it vulnerable to natural disasters. Human civilization & culture of the region has developed through the utilization of natural resources and addressing natural disasters with indigenous knowledge, local strategies and technologies. Grassroots organizations ‘Paani Audhikar Committee-PAC’ (Water Rights Committee) are rainsing awareness and promoting advocay and maintenance of water points with peoples’ contribution and participations.
