In the global golfing industry, water management is a key topic. With 35000 golf courses globally, efficient water management and irrigation of the course could have an enormous impact on the natural environment and biodiversity. Between-us developed a monitor to measure key sustainability indicators at golf courses, including water management. Through benchmarking and educational material, global golf courses can learn from others and become more efficient in their water usage.

World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT) – knowledge management platform to assess water-related impacts of different land management practices
WOCAT, the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies, was initiated nearly 20 years ago. Today WOCAT is a thriving knowledge management hub for Sustainable Land Management (SLM) providing information on water and land resources and their use. Through the WOCAT network different stakeholders can get information on SLM Technologies and Approaches improving water management. Hence, this information can be used to improve land management and to reduce pressure on the water resource improving livelihood at the same time. Many examples have been documented through WOCAT partners in the WOCAT database.
In a water utility, it is widely recognised that people and energy are the two highest expenditures. Managing these costs is vital in the current economic climate. The new Telemetry system is part of the Integrated Remote Intelligence Service (IRIS) programme of Anglian Water. A full integration to the existing corporate IT environment is required to optimize the alarm handling and asset management.
